THE CREATIVE ATELIERS OF ABILMENTE
The Ateliers will mix the laboratories and the expositions in wonderful sceneries, by which the handmade articles will be reinterpreted in the modern manner. This exposition will offer new and interesting ideas for a new utilisation of handmade articles.
The courses and demonstrations will be held in the ateliers und last until the end of the fair, with the show of original handmade articles created for this occasion.
But there's much more!
In the ateliers will be possible to find many informations about the latest materials and techniques, about associations and schools and the latest publications of this sector.
The embroidery's Atelier
After the great success of the spring edition returns the embroidery's atelier, in a bigger and more suggestive space. This atelier will promote the old and wonderful art of embroidery.
Sixteen schools and associations will be the protagonists of the atelier. They will animate this area with courses and demonstrations about the techniques that characterise each association and with a prestigious show, dedicated in this edition to the decoration of the relax corner.
The programme of the courses will be available some weeks before the show.
The Patchwork's Atelier
Among the newest features of this fair in addition to the embroidery's atelier there will be the Patchwork's Atelier, a big laboratory-area where all the hobbists will be able to folow the courses and demonstrations organised by Bernina Italy.

The company Del Vecchia, estabilished in 1946 in Florence, is since 1973 the only importator and distributor of the swiss brand BERNINA, a world famous company which produces sewing machines of great reliability and precision. “HOME DECORATION” COLORING ATELIER
A lab area with decoration painting classes and demonstrations. The most important companies will present their new products to decorate the house through free demonstrations. With the coloring atelier Abilmente will organise the show “Home Decoration”, an area with different situation contests, decorated in a creative way.

“Embroidery Ideas”
Main Topic of this edition, after the bedroom, is the relax corner, to personalize with embroidered blankets, sheets, pillows, and lampshades!
The exhibition wants to offer a new idea of embroidery in the interior decoration and in home personalization, and show every possible utilisation in interiors, to bring out its creative potential.
The handmade articles and the settings are created by the schools which take part to the embroidering Atelier.
“Embroidery Ideas” is realised in collaboration with the magazine “Ricamo Italiano” and the “Centro Italiano Tutela Ricamo”.
“Vestiamoci di Patchwork”
Along the beautiful sheet of water in the middle of the pavillon there will be this year an exclusive exhibition of quilts selected by QuiltItalia. It will be possible to admire beautiful patchwork creations on clothes and accessories.
QUILT ITALIA
Patchwork, Quilting, Needlework an Co. National Association
This association represents all italian quilters, and tries to promote their work. It is also the official organ for the international coordination of the presence of Italy in every initiatives organised by EQA (European Quilting Association), of which Italy is a member since 1997.
Quilt Italia organizes in Italy shows, competitions and any kind of event, and it is present at many exhibitions in own spaces in which teachers and members of the association promote the art of patchwork.
The members are distributed in the whole italian territory, and this year the board of directors has appointed the regional delegates.
Quilt Italia publishes four times a year the newsletter “Quilt Italia News”, to promote the exchange of information among the members and/or the groups and to spread news about quilting.
